The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) staged a protest demanding Marathi signages at Seawoods Nexus Grand Central Mall.

Despite the Supreme Court's two-month deadline expiring on November 25, the mall administration and some shopkeepers of international brands in the mall have yet to implement Marathi signages.

Against this, the MNS activists entered the mall premises shouting slogans such as ‘The signs on the shops must be in Marathi’, ‘Marathi must be respected’. Also, taking an aggressive stance against the mall administration, MNS workers staged a sit-in protest.

MNS City Secretary Sachin Kadam asserted an aggressive stance, he said, “No MNS worker will exit the mall until the English signages on the shops are taken down.”

In response, MNS Deputy City President Savinay Mhatre issued a warning, he said, “In the next few days, if all the shop signs in the mall are not made in Marathi, then the mall administration should remember that the MNS flag also has a pole. Observing the assertive posture of the MNS, the mall administration promptly began the removal of English signages.”

Furthermore, Mall General Manager Avinash Dubey assured MNS activists that all shop signages in the mall would be converted into Marathi within the next seven days. In support of this cause, Deputy City President Savinay Mhatre, City Secretary Sachin Kadam, Department President Nilesh Jadhav, Amol Aywale, Umesh Gaikwad, Akshay Bhosle, Deputy Department President Narahari Kumbar, Rajendra Khade, Vinod Landge, Branch President Pramod Dere, Sandeep Kamble, Atish Patil, Praneet Dongre, Rohit Shivtare, Ganesh Patil, Mayur Karande, City Secretary Mangesh Kalebagh, and a substantial number of Maharashtra soldiers actively participated in the movement.
