Residents express frustration

For nearly three weeks now, residents of Kharghar Sector-34 and Sector-35 have been grappling with inadequate water pressure in their area, sparking ire and discontent among the populace. The situation has reached a tipping point as numerous housing societies, including Sai Haridra, Krishna Majesty, Keshav Residency, Innovative Corner, Galaxy, and Sai Solitaire, among others, struggle to meet their daily water needs.

The high-rise locality, home to many families, has been facing this predicament despite the Hetwane dam maintained by CIDCO boasting ample water reserves. This incongruity has left residents questioning whether CIDCO has intentionally curtailed water supply to their area.

In response to mounting concerns, queries were directed to the water supply department of CIDCO. Officials attributed the issue to recent maintenance work conducted by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation on the water channel. Consequently, the consequential drop in water pressure has affected the aforementioned housing societies in Sector-34 and Sector-35.

Assurances have been given by CIDCO officials that normalcy will soon be restored in terms of water supply to the affected areas. However, residents remain sceptical, frustrated by the prolonged inconvenience and lack of clarity surrounding the situation.

“We are left with no choice but to rely on water tankers to alleviate their immediate water needs. Our patience wears thin as we await concrete action to address the underlying cause of the low water pressure plaguing are node”, said a resident.
