Kharghar Sports Academy kick-started the new year with an exciting two-day 5×5 basketball tournament held at the Sector 19 playground, aimed at fostering a love for outdoor sports and encouraging young students to stay active. The event saw participation from teams across various age groups, including a notable contribution from Greenstar Sports Academy.

The tournament was inaugurated by renowned sports physician Dr. Amol Patil and Pravin Patel, chairman of the Intop Tower Society. The first day saw only girls’ teams in action, with around 14 girls' teams competing across the under-12, 14, and 16 age groups. The event garnered attention and support from many parents, who appreciated the efforts of Kharghar Sports Academy for organizing such an event for the youth of the area.

The prize distribution ceremony for the girls' matches was graced by several dignitaries, including Dr. Rakesh Somani, Principal of Dr. DY Patil Pharmacy College, Dr. Mukesh Sinha, Kharghar Centre Head, PAES IIT and Medical College, BJP Uttar Raigad District Secretary Brij Patel, and BJP leaders like Kavivarya Krishnanath Kulkarni and Dilip Jadhav.

On the second day, the tournament continued with boys’ teams competing in the under-12, 14, and 16 age categories. The chief guest for the boys' matches was former MP Ramsheth Thakur, who lauded the efforts of Kiran Patil and Netra Patil in organizing large-scale sports, educational, and health activities in the city. The prize distribution ceremony also featured key BJP leaders, including Kharghar BJP Mandal President Pravin Patil and others.

The event was organized by Kharghar Sports Academy Secretary and Former Corporator of Panvel Municipal Corporation Netra Patil, and Kharghar Sports Academy President Kiran Patil. The success of the event can be attributed to the hard work of individuals like Dinesh Yadav, Gopal Rana, Vaibhav Shekare, Ranjit Patil, and the Green Star Sports Academy team.
