In a decisive move aimed at maintaining civic order during the upcoming elections, the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has issued a stern warning against the unauthorized display of election-related posters, banners, hoardings, and other promotional materials within its jurisdiction. Municipal Commissioner Dr. Indurani Jakhar emphasized that legal action would be taken against anyone found violating these directives.

Speaking at a meeting convened at the Election Division Headquarters, Dr. Jakhar emphasised the importance of obtaining proper permissions before erecting any election-related materials. The meeting, attended by Additional Commissioner Mangesh Chitale, Deputy Election Commissioner Ramesh Misal, and ward officers, along with representatives from printing press owners and mandap contractors, reiterated the need for strict adherence to municipal regulations.

Dr. Jakhar outlined stringent guidelines to be followed by printing press owners, mandap contractors, and other stakeholders involved in election campaigning. She emphasized the necessity of documenting orders for campaign materials, including the identification of individuals placing the orders and serial numbers for each printed copy. Moreover, she mandated that all posters, banners, hoardings, and other structures must prominently display municipal permission numbers, publisher details, and contact information.

The Commissioner warned that failure to comply with these regulations would result in immediate legal action, including the removal of unauthorized materials and the imposition of penalties on the responsible parties. She also urged transparency in advertising contracts, emphasizing the principle of equal justice for all candidates and parties.

Furthermore, Dr. Jakhar instructed contractors to promptly remove any structures erected for election-related events once the permission period expires. She stressed the importance of submitting detailed information regarding the number, size, and cost of printed materials to the Election Decision Officer and the Municipal Corporation.
