Kalyan: In a significant move towards enhancing cleanliness in the city, the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has introduced four new state-of-the-art power sweeping machines to its solid waste department fleet. This initiative aims to alleviate the persistent issue of road dust that has been a concern for residents, contributing to various health problems.

The introduction of these advanced machines follows the efforts of Kalyan West MLA Vishwanath Bhoir, who inspected the new vehicles alongside KDMC Chief Fire Officer Namdev Choudhary, former corporator Mohan Ugle, KDMC Deputy Engineer Sham Sonwane, and other officials.

Citizens have long expressed their frustrations regarding the dust on Kalyan’s roads, prompting MLA Bhoir to bring the issue to the attention of KDMC Commissioner Dr. Indu Rani Jakhar. Responding promptly, Dr. Jakhar authorized the purchase of these modern power sweeping machines.

“Starting from October 2, on Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary, these machines will be put to work for the benefit of our citizens,” stated MLA Bhoir. The new power sweepers, equipped with advanced technology, are designed for efficient cleaning of cement concrete roads. They not only remove accumulated dust but also utilize water for a thorough clean.

In addition to these machines, MLA Bhoir announced that another vehicle for cleaning asphalt roads will soon be added to the KDMC fleet, furthering the commitment to improving public welfare and maintaining cleaner streets.

Bhoir expressed satisfaction during his inspection of the new fire bowser vehicles recently added to the fire brigade, highlighting the administration's dedicated efforts to address the cleanliness and safety needs of Kalyan's residents.
