In a commendable display of vigilance, the traffic police in Kalyan have earned praise after successfully recovering cash and silver jewellery worth thousands. The incident happened on Friday, March 29 when Laxmibabu Gupta, hailing from the Tilak Chowk area of Kalyan West, arrived at Kalyan station from Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, only to inadvertently leave behind a bag containing valuables.

As Gupta landed at 10 am with around eight bags, one bag was accidentally left near the station's escalator amidst the rush. The timely action of the traffic police, led by officers Patil and Chavan, averted a potential loss as they swiftly responded to reports of the abandoned bag. With caution, they examined the bag, discovering Rs. 30,000 in cash along with silver articles and new clothes.

Quick to act, the police initiated inquiries to determine the bag's owner, eventually establishing contact with the Gupta family. Once confirmed, the bag was promptly returned to its rightful owners, much to their relief and gratitude. Gupta expressed heartfelt thanks to the traffic police for their integrity and efficiency in reuniting them with their belongings.
