Navi Mumbai police responds swiftly

On Tuesday, October 3rd, a concerned citizen, Mahesh, brought attention to the issue of illegal bike parking and a bike garage operation encroaching upon the footpath and the road beneath the metro line at Plot No. 14 near the Dream Pearl building in Sector 35E. Mahesh took to Twitter, tagging the Navi Mumbai Police and the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC), and posted pictures of the situation, stating, "The pictures attached below are of Sector 35E Dream Pearl, Plot No. 14 near Kharghar metro road. There is illegal bike parking, and bike repair on the metro road. Several complaints were made, but no action was taken. Critical road safety and road blockage. Accident-prone spot."

Acknowledging the complaint promptly, the Navi Mumbai Police took swift action. In an update on the tweet, the official Navi Mumbai Police Twitter account confirmed that Poupani Shinde and their team visited the area highlighted in the complaint. They issued e-challans to 11 vehicle owners and enforced appropriate measures.

Mahesh expressed his gratitude to the police for their immediate response and action.

Kalpana Chavan, a resident in the area, commented, "The bike garage was operating with a disregard for rules, conducting bike repairs on the footpath and the road below. This encroachment not only consumed space on the footpath but also posed a significant safety hazard, with lined-up bikes making the road accident-prone. I am relieved that the Navi Mumbai Police intervened promptly and took action."
