The Institution of Engineers (India) Navi Mumbai Local Centre (NMLC) and Fr. C. Rodrigues Institute of Technology, Vashi, Navi Mumbai (FCRIT) jointly organised the 'IEI NMLC-FCRIT Excellence Awards 2023.' These awards were created to acknowledge and celebrate the excellence of students, researchers, and engineers, coinciding with the 56th Engineers Day. The primary goal of this award ceremony was to recognize and honour the outstanding contributions of academics and industry professionals. The Excellence Awards 2023 ceremony took place at The Institution of Engineers (India) Navi Mumbai Local Centre on September 15, 2023.

The event was attended by NMMC Commissioner Rajesh Narvekar, Dr. K. M. Godbole (Chairman, IEI NMLC), Dr S M Khot (Principal, FCRIT,Vashi), Er. Keshav K. Verkhedkar (Imm. Past Chairman, IEI NMLC), Dr. M. B. Dagaonkar (Past Council Member, IEI. Past Chairman IEI Maharashtra state centre and Past Chairman IEI NMLC), Er. Sanjay R. Bagul (Hon. Secretary, IEI NMLC), Dr. Nilaj Deshmukh (Chair, IEI NMLC-FCRIT Excellence Award-2023) and past chairmen’s/ secretaries of IEI NMLC centre.

NMMC Chief Rajesh Narvekar mentioned, "Navi Mumbai has been built by eminent engineers from decades and their works have been commendable. IEI NMLC and FCRIT have been always instrumental in promoting and recognizing innovative efforts made by academicians and industries in all domains. On the occasion of Engineering Day I appreciate all the visionary engineers for their work and contribution in development and technology."

Secretary of IEI NMLC Engineer Sanjay Bagul said, "We are proud to acknowledge the fact that IEI NMLC – FCRIT Excellence Awards organized in the years 2019, 2021, 2022 received overwhelming response and has been very successful. I congratulate each one of the engineers who won the award and thank the judges".

Academic Excellence (Faculty-National) was awarded to Dr. Makkhan Lal Meena, Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, the Academic Excellence (Faculty Regional) was awarded to Dr Sushil Thale from Fr. C. Rodrigues Institute of Technology.

Academic excellence AE (HoD-Regional) was awarded to Dr. Bindu S. from Fr. C. Rodrigues Institute of Technology. Academic excellence (Institute-Regional) was awarded to A.P. Shah Institute of Technology. Academic Excellence (Principal-Regional) was awarded to Dr. Santosh Devidaspant Chede. D. Y.Patil College of Engineering & Technology, Kolhapur. Research Excellence (Faculty –National) was awarded to Dr. Kaushik Pal, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. Research Excellence (Faculty –Regional) was awarded to Dr. Shivling Mahaling Pise KIT’s College of Engineering, Kolhapur. Research Excellence (Industry –National) was awarded to Manmath Kumar B. Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology, Indore. Industry Excellence was awarded to Ramesh Jadhav Adiveritas Inspections Pvt. Ltd. Startup excellence was awarded to Debadatta Mishra Erisha Space Pvt.Ltd. Academic Excellence (UG-National) was awarded to Ashwin Upamanyu Dev, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Academic Excellence (UG-Regional) was awarded to Shabnam S Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore. Other than winners, 17 special recognition awards were given to visionary engineers.
