Ulhasnagar: Vitthalwadi Police have registered cases against two Garba organizers for allegedly violating permit conditions, causing noise pollution and failing to comply with police instructions during Navratri celebrations on October 19, 2026.
The first incident occurred around 9:30 pm near the Gurudwara in the Lalchakki area, where the ‘Sarvajanik Mitra Mandal’ organized a Garba Ras event on a public road, allegedly obstructing vehicular and pedestrian movement. When police instructed organizer Vikas Dinesh Singh, a resident of Shivnagar, to switch off the loudspeakers, he allegedly refused.
Following a complaint by Police Head Constable Santosh Krishna Kurne, a case was registered under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 102 and 115 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951. Police Head Constable Khambekar is investigating the case.
The second incident was reported around 10:23 pm near Satyasai Niketan School at Sambhaji Chowk, Lalchakki. The ‘Jai Maharashtra Mitra Mandal’ allegedly organized a Garba event without proper permission and played loud music at excessive volume.
Police Head Constable Mahendra Shaligram Bhoir instructed organizer Chetan Chandan Das, a resident of Sane Guruji Nagar, to reduce the volume and switch off the loudspeakers. However, he allegedly ignored the directions.
Police registered a case against Das for allegedly disobeying official orders. Police Head Constable Sonawane is conducting further investigation into the incident.
