A cloud of uncertainty hovers over the tender issued by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) for the distribution of food kiosks in the TTC industrial area. Former Corporator Namdev Dawurkar has called for the suspension of the tender process through the Maharashtra State MIDC Project Affected Farmer Action Committee.
Issued on January 30, the tender aims to allocate food kiosks in the Mahape area of the TTC industrial zone. However, concerns have been raised regarding the lack of clarity surrounding the location of these kiosks in the tender documentation. The absence of specific information regarding their placement has posed significant challenges for potential participants.
It is noteworthy that crucial details such as layout, area, and overall configuration of the designated space have been shrouded in secrecy throughout the tender process. Furthermore, there exists a state government policy emphasizing the prioritization of local project victims, needy women, and project-affected disabled individuals in activities of public interest. This directive, endorsed by CM Eknath Shinde and Industries Minister Uday Samant, underscores the need for transparency and inclusivity.
In light of these discrepancies and the potential for confusion arising from incomplete information, Namdev Dawurkar, representing the Maharashtra State MIDC Project Affected Farmers Action Committee, has urged regional authorities to halt the tender process pending a thorough investigation. Dawurkar stresses the importance of conducting the process transparently and ensuring accessibility to all aspiring entrepreneurs.
