Dr. Kailas Shinde takes charge as Commissioner of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation

Dr. Kailas Shinde, a 2013 batch IAS Officer, has officially taken charge as the Commissioner of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation. His appointment comes following an order from the General Administration Department of the Government.
In a ceremony held at the Commissioner's hall in the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Headquarters, Dr. Shinde was warmly welcomed by key officials including Deputy Commissioner of the Administration Department, Sharad Pawar, City Engineer Sanjay Desai, Chief Accounts & Finance Officer Satyawan Ubale, and Chief Auditor Jitendra Ingle, along with other department heads.
Dr. Kailas Shinde brings with him a wealth of experience, having excelled in various roles throughout his career. He has previously served as Deputy Secretary at both the Chief Minister's Secretariat and the Governor's Secretariat, demonstrating commendable performance. Notably, his tenure as the Chief Executive Officer of Satara Zilla Parishad during the Swachh Bharat Mission earned him accolades, including special recognition from the Prime Minister and a prestigious award from the Government of India for his contributions to sanitation initiatives.
During his tenure as the Collector of Palghar district, Dr. Shinde spearheaded several public welfare projects, particularly focusing on tribal areas. He also played a pivotal role in coordinating disaster relief efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic and cyclonic events, earning recognition and honours from both state and central governments for his exemplary leadership.
Prior to assuming the role of Commissioner, Dr. Kailas Shinde served as the Joint Managing Director of CIDCO Corporation, where he made significant contributions to various projects including infrastructure development, urban planning, and disaster management. His emphasis on leveraging technology to streamline government processes and improve citizen services has been a hallmark of his administrative approach.
Upon assuming office, Dr. Shinde wasted no time in convening a meeting with department heads to review ongoing projects and discuss future plans. He has expressed his commitment to ensuring efficient governance and the timely delivery of essential services to the citizens of Navi Mumbai, promising to undertake field visits to better understand the ground realities and address community needs effectively.
