The upcoming Diwali Mela 2023, set for the 4th of November, promises a spectacular display and sale of Diwali and household items crafted by dynamic women entrepreneurs. Organized by the Divya Vaibhav Gaikwad Foundation, the event aims to provide an invaluable platform for aspiring lady entrepreneurs. The foundation is extending a golden opportunity by offering free stalls to these talented entrepreneurs to exhibit their products at the Diwali Festival Fair. The vibrant exhibition and sale are scheduled to take place at the Rotary Club Hall, near Sacred Heart School in Sector 6, Vashi, Navi Mumbai, from 4:30 pm to 9:00 pm.
This Diwali Mela will present an array of diverse products essential for the festival, including sky lanterns, diyas, rangolis, decorative lamps, torans, curtains, bed sheets, traditional clothing like kurtas and blouses, as well as intricately crafted jewelry—all available at discounted rates. For culinary enthusiasts, homemade Diwali farals, snacks, and regional delicacies from Maharashtra, Southern India, Bengal, and Gujarat will be on offer, alongside organic honey. Moreover, a variety of household items such as spices, hair oils, and soaps will be available at highly reasonable prices.
Firmly rooted in the principles of women's empowerment, the initiative by the Divya Vaibhav Gaikwad Foundation endeavours to provide a significant platform for women through various activities on every occasion. The grand display and sale of Diwali and household items, especially crafted by women, during this festive season, aims to provide a significant boost to female entrepreneurs. Divya Gaikwad, the Former Corporator and a prominent social activist from Vashi, expressed, "Our primary objective behind this Diwali Mela is women's empowerment. This earnest effort aims to offer opportunities to women entrepreneurs in an era dominated by online shopping and mall culture. All stalls are provided to women free of charge, without any fees imposed on them."
