Dilapidated MBMT Bus Stops Draw Public Ire; MNS Warns of Agitation

Mira-Bhayandar: The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has slammed the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Transport (MBMT) administration for the appalling condition of bus stops, accusing civic authorities of neglect and wastage of public funds. With the monsoon fast approaching, local residents are raising serious concerns about commuter safety and the lack of basic infrastructure at key bus stops.

Despite repeated complaints from citizens, no action has been taken to repair or upgrade the crumbling bus facilities, exposing what many see as blatant indifference from the MBMT administration.

Speaking after inspecting the affected bus stops, MNS Mira-Bhayandar city president Sandeep Rane stated, “The condition of these bus stops is not just shameful—it’s dangerous. Taxpayers’ money is being wasted while citizens are forced to stand in filth and under open skies. If these issues are not resolved immediately, MNS will launch an aggressive protest.”

Local commuters echoed these concerns. “The shelters are either broken or completely missing. During the rains, it becomes impossible to wait here,” said one daily passenger. Another added, “The area around the stop is filled with garbage, the sewage tank is open, and there are no benches or shade. It’s like the authorities have forgotten we exist.”

The situation underscores what many believe is a systemic failure in civic planning and infrastructure maintenance. With no signs of timely intervention, the derelict state of MBMT bus stops has become a symbol of wasted resources and administrative apathy.

Whether the MBMT administration will finally respond to these longstanding grievances remains to be seen—but for now, public patience appears to be running thin.
