CR Mega Block On Harbour and Main Lines This Sunday

No direct connectivity between Navi Mumbai and Mumbai

Central Railway (CR) will operate Mega Block o­n its suburban sections on Sunday 11th August, 2024. Western Railway (WR) on the other hand have announced that there will be no Jumbo Block on its suburban section this Sunday.

The details of the CR Mega Block is given below:

A) Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus – Chunabhatti UP & DN Harbour lines

From: 11.10 am to 4.40 pm

UP Harbour line Special services for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Mumbai leaving Panvel / Belapur / Vashi from 9.53 am to 3.20 pm and DN Harbour line Special services to Vashi / Belapur / Panvel leaving CSMT / Vadala Road from 11.16 am to 4.47 pm will remain suspended.

However, Special services will run between Panvel and Kurla (Platform No.8) during the block period at a frequency of approximately 20 minutes during the block period.

Harbour line passengers are permitted to travel via Main Line and Western Railway from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm during block period.

B) Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus – Mahim UP & DN Harbour lines

From: 11.10 am to 4.40 pm

UP Harbour line Special services for CSMT Mumbai leaving Goregaon / Bandra from 11.40 am to 4.40 pm and DN Harbour line Special services to Bandra/Goregaon leaving CSMT from 11.10 am to 4.10 pm will remain suspended.

Harbour line passengers however are permitted to travel via Main line and Western line from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm during block period.

C) Matunga – Mulund UP and DN Slow Main lines

From: 11.05 am to 3.55 pm

UP Slow line services leaving Thane from 10.58 am to 3.59 pm will be diverted on UP Fast line between Mulund and Matunga and will halt at Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar, Kurla and Sion stations. Further will be re-diverted on proper UP Slow line at Matunga and will arrive destination 15 minutes later than scheduled arrival

DN Slow line services leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Mumbai from 10.14 am to 3.18 pm will be diverted on DN Fast line between Matunga and Mulund stations and will halt at Sion, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup and Mulund stations. Further will be re-diverted on the proper Slow line at Mulund station and will arrive 15 minutes later than scheduled arrival.

On the UP Slow line, the last Local before the block will be Asangaon Local departing Thane at 10.27 am and the first Local after the block will be Kalyan local departing Thane at 04.03 pm.

On DN Slow line, the last Local before the block will be Titwala Local leaving CSMT, Mumbai at 09.53 am and first Local after the block will be Asangaon Local leaving CSMT Mumbai at 3.32 pm.

The above essential Mega Block will allow CR staff to carry out various engineering and maintenance works including maintenance of tracks, signaling, and overhead equipment, that are essential for infrastructure upkeep and safety.
