Special Night Suburban Trains On Main Lines For Ganesh Devotees Over Weekend

Central Railway (CR) will operate Mega Block o­n its Suburban sections on Sunday 15th September to carry out various engineering and maintenance works including maintenance of tracks, signaling, and overhead equipment, that are essential for infrastructure upkeep and safety. 

The details of the CR Mega Block is given below:

A) Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus – Chunabhatti UP & DN Harbour lines

From: 11.10 am to 4.40 pm

UP Harbour line Special services for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Mumbai leaving Panvel / Belapur / Vashi from 9.53 am to 3.20 pm and DN Harbour line Special services to Vashi / Belapur / Panvel leaving CSMT / Vadala Road from 11.16 am to 4.47 pm will remain suspended.

 However, Special services will run between Panvel and Kurla (Platform No.8) during the block period at a frequency of approximately 20 minutes during the block period.

 Harbour line passengers are permitted to travel via Main Line and Western Railway from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm during block period

 B) Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus – Bandra UP & DN Harbour lines

From: 11.10 am to 4.40 pm

UP Harbour line Special services for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Mumbai leaving Goregaon / Bandra from 10.45 am to 5.13 pm and DN Harbour line services to Bandra/Goregaon leaving CSMT, Mumbai from 10.48 am to 4.43 pm will remain suspended.

On the UP Harbour Line the Last local before the block for CSMT Mumbai will depart Bandra at 10.20am and the First local after the block for CSMT Mumbai will depart Goregaon at 4.58 pm.

On DN Harbour Line the Last local on the other hand before the block will be Goregaon Local departing CSMT Mumbai at 10.22 am and the First local after the block will be Bandra Local departing CSMT Mumbai at 4.51 pm.

Harbour line passengers are permitted to travel via Main Line and Western Railway from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm during block period.

C) Vidyavihar - Thane Main Lines (5th and 6th lines)

From: 8.00 am to 12.30 pm

The above block will result in diversion of UP and DN Mail/Express services as detailed below:

All UP Mail/Express Trains arriving at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mumbai will be diverted on the UP Fast line at Thane station and re-diverted on the 6th line at Vidyavihar station and will arrive at the destination 10 to 15 mins late.

 All DN Mail/Express Trains leaving Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mumbai will be diverted on DN Fast line at Vidyavihar station and re-diverted on the 5th line at Thane station and will be handed over a further 10 to 15 minutes late.

Passengers are requested to bear with the Railway Administration for the inconvenience caused.

 Special Night Suburban Trains On Main Lines For Ganesh Devotees

Meanwhile on the occasion of Ganpati Festival, CR has announced significant Special trains to and from Mumbai for Ganesha devotees to ease burden on regular services during festival rush. There are 12 Special night suburban trains will run on the intervening nights of Saturday/Sunday, September 14/15, and Sunday/Monday, September 15/16, 2024, on the Main line between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) Mumbai and Kalyan/Thane. The special trains will halt at all stations between CSTM Mumbai and Kalyan/Thane.
