Adds to chaos during peak hours, say passengers
While the indicators being removed at Vashi station remain unsolved, commuters have complained that the same thing is now happening at Sanpada station which is the next stop after Vashi station.
Residents and commuters alike have said that this adds to travelling woes especially during peak hours when knowing what the next train is, is crucial for railway passengers.
While speaking to Newsband, Shruti Avhad, a resident of Sanpada said, “These things really add to a lot of last minute chaos and confusion. While many of us may have apps like M-Indicator and Yatri to help us out. It is a struggle for the layman who do not have access to them. Why is the railway administration taking our indicators without any prior notice? First, this situation played out in Vashi station, where they had allegedly said that the indicators were being upgraded. And now there are no indicators at Sanpada. This is really concerning.”
Amarjeet Pal Singh, a resident from Sanpada who is originally from Chandigarh said, “I recently moved to Sanpada from Chandigarh as I work at BKC. On my first day, it was really confusing for me as there were no indicators on the subway. I found them on the platform later. This issue needs to be sorted by relevant railway authorities as it is difficult for people who are new to the city to adjust to such inadequacies.”
Commuters and residents unanimously said that it is not justified to remove indicators from any station without prior notice to the public. Even if it is for any upgradation work. They are hoping for the reinstallation of indicators so that they can have a hassle free journey.
