Panvel: Panvel police has registered a case against a sub-inspector (PSI) for rape and Prevention of Atrocities Act for allegedly raping a police constable with the Mumbai police.

According to the complaint registered by the victim, the PSI had been sexually assaulting her for the past five years by threatening to take her nude photos and publish it online. The victim has also accused the PSI of using casteist slurs.

The PSI, currently attached with the Vashi police station, had met the victim while he was deployed in Taloja in 2020. The victim claims the accused had served her tea laced with drugs and took advantage of her and had been abusing her from April 2020 and April 2025.

The victim has also named the PSI’s mother in the case. According to the victim, the old lady abused the victim using casteist slurs.
