Bhayandar: Police arrested a 23-year-old youth and seized 27 grams of brown sugar powder valued at Rs. 3.24 lakh from Shiv Sena Galli, Mahesh Nagar, Bhayandar.

The accused, identified as Manish Singh, was apprehended near his residence on the upper floor of Golu Shyamnarayan Singh’s house on May 6. During the search, police recovered 27 grams of brown sugar powder, a mobile phone worth and cash, bringing the total value of the seized items to Rs. 3.35 lakh.

"The accused was caught red-handed while attempting to sell the narcotic substance. Following the recovery, we registered an offence under the NDPS Act, 1985, Section 8(c) and 21(b)," said police officer, on the condition of anonymity. The accused had the intent to sell the narcotic substance.
