Bhiwandi News: Bhiwandi APMC ranks 1st in Konkan division

Bhiwandi: The Bhiwandi Agricultural Produce Market Committee has been ranked first from the Konkan division in the Maharashtra State Market Committee rankings for 2023-2024, as per a survey under the Business and Rural Transformation (SMART) project.

The ranking is based on criteria including infrastructure, economic progress, statutory work, and other factors.

In the rankings, Hinganghat Market Committee from Wardha district secured first place, Karanja Lad from Washim district came second, and Baramati Market Committee from Pune district ranked third. Bhiwandi emerged as the top committee from a pool of 20 market committees in six Konkan districts: Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg.

The success is attributed to the collective efforts of the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Board of Directors, officers, and staff, as stated by Secretary Yashwant Mhatre. He expressed gratitude for the collaboration and dedication that led to this achievement. Mhatre extended congratulations to all involved and hoped that the Bhiwandi Market Committee continues its progress on this path.

Dignitaries, including former chairmen, vice-chairmen, directors, and heads of farmers’ and traders’ organisations from the taluka, congratulated the Committee’s leadership, Chairman Sachin Patil, Vice-Chairman Manesh Mhatre, and Secretary Dr. Yashwant Anant Mhatre.
