Bhayandar: A 19-year-old has been arrested and two stolen scooters recovered by the crime detection unit of Bhayandar police station. The investigation began after two separate cases of vehicle theft were reported. In the first incident, a complainant reported the theft of a Honda Activa parked outside the Nana-Nani Park library on May 30. While the second case, involved the theft of a TVS Jupiter worth Rs 15,000, stolen from Bakery Galli, Bhayandar, on June 5 midnight.

Surveillance footage and intelligence from informants led the team to Shivmati Building, Uttan Road, Bhayandar West. A trap was laid, and the suspect, identified as Basant Tushar Dhal (19), was apprehended. Upon interrogation, Dhal confessed to both thefts. Police recovered both stolen vehicles—a Honda Activa and a TVS Jupiter, collectively valued at Rs 30,000.
