Astha Naiker and Devansh Rane to represent India at World Skating Championships in Belgium

Kalyan: Astha Naiker from Kalyan Public School and Devansh Rane from St. Mary's School, Kalyan have been selected to represent India at the Grand Prix, a prestigious world skating competition held in Belgium. Both athletes, hailing from Kalyan East, Maharashtra, are among the 12 players chosen for the Indian team.
Under the mentorship of Olympic gold medalist Bart Swing, Astha and Devansh underwent rigorous training in Rajasthan for the past fifteen days. They were also guided by prominent figures like State Skating Association President Pushpedra Singh, Shripad Shinde, and Pawan Thakur. Ahead of their journey, they received best wishes from State Cabinet Minister Ravindra Chavan, Kalyan East MLA Ganpat Gaikwad's wife Sulabha Gaikwad, Professor Laxman Ingle, Chhatrapati Award winner Ankur Aher, and Subhash Gaikwad.
Astha, who started skating at the age of four, has achieved numerous victories in various competitions. Her selection for the international event has brought immense joy to her family. "We hope Astha continues to participate in many competitions and brings glory to our country," said Supriya Naiker, Astha's mother.
Devansh's father, Avinash Rane, expressed pride in his son's unexpected journey to international acclaim in skating. "Devansh's dedication and hard work have paid off with his selection for this prestigious competition. We are confident he will excel and achieve success," he added.
