Kharghar: A senior citizen retired from the Indian armed forces has been accused of intentionally damaging two cars parked inside the Jal Vayu Vihar phase-I in Kharghar.
“We received the complaint regarding the intentional scratching of vehicle couple of days ago. We have registered a non-cognisable (NC) complaint in the matter,” Deepak Surve, Sr PI, Kharghar police station said. “The accused is a senior citizen and retired from the Indian armed forces.”
According to the complaint, lodged by Vipin Solanki, resident of Juhi, Jal Vayu Vihar, the accused had scratched his parked vehicle. The vehicle was parked on the road and not in the parking lot because of repair work being carried out in the society.
The accused was caught doing the act on the dash cam. Though police have registered an NC, the matter was ‘settled’. “The parties arrived at a mutual understanding and the accused has agreed to bear the cost of the repairs,” Surve said.
The police official refused to divulge the name of the accused as he was a senior citizen and the matter had been settled.
The accused claimed he believed the vehicle belonged to visitors and was peeved at it being parked on the road.
