Threaten protests against Mahavitaran
Airoli residents find themselves grappling with relentless power outages amidst soaring temperatures, sparking renewed frustration and indignation towards the Mahavitaran Company. The sweltering conditions coupled with frequent interruptions in electricity supply have spurred residents to once again voice their discontent and issue warnings of impending protests.
As May progresses, temperatures continue to climb, exacerbating the discomfort of citizens. However, the situation is exacerbated by the recurring power disruptions plaguing the Airoli area. Residents endure prolonged periods of power cuts lasting up to one to one and a half hours, both during the day and at night, intensifying their distress.
Tensions reached a boiling point two weeks ago when irate citizens stormed the Mahavitaran Company's office, resulting in the assault of two company employees. Subsequently, legal actions were initiated against the agitators by the Rabale police station.
Despite the recent rains and subsequent weather fluctuations, which typically strain infrastructure, the power outages persist. Mahavitaran officials attribute the outages to cable malfunctions, yet residents remain unconvinced by the explanations provided. With the monsoon season looming, residents express mounting frustration, warning that continued power disruptions could lead to escalated protests. The onus, they assert, lies squarely on the Mahavitaran Company to address these issues promptly to avert potential unrest within the community.
