In a bid to accommodate the increased passenger traffic during the Summer Season of 2026, Central Railway, in collaboration with Konkan Railway, has announced the operation of additional weekly special trains. Starting from Saturday, May 16, 2026, the Sawantwadi Road - Panvel Weekly Special (Train No. 01008) will depart from Sawantwadi Road at 07:20 hrs. every Saturday, arriving at Panvel at 17:00 hrs. the same day.

On its return journey, Train No. 01007 will leave Panvel at 18:10 hrs., also every Saturday, and is scheduled to reach Sawantwadi Road at 04:30 hrs. the following day.

These special trains will make stops at key stations including Kudal, Sindhudurg, Kankavali, Nandgaon Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Rajapur Road, Vilavade, Adavali, Ratnagiri, Sangameshwar Road, Chiplun, Khed, Mangaon, Roha, and Pen, ensuring accessibility for passengers along the route.

The train composition includes a total of 20 LHB coaches, including One AC 2 Tier, Three AC 3 Tier, Two AC 3 Tier (Economy), Eight Second Class Sleeper and Four General Class coaches.

Passengers are encouraged to take advantage of these additional services during the busy summer months.
