The much awaited Inter School Annual Athletic Meet being organised under the aegis of New Bombay Area Schools Association (NBASA) kicked-off at the sprawling Navi Mumbai Sports Association ground, Vashi on Tuesday 6th February, 2024.

The opening day of the annual sporting extravaganza saw enthusiastic participation from thousands of athletes from a record 40 schools (State, CBSE and ICSE boards) located in Navi Mumbai and Panvel municipal jurisdictions. Some of the prominent ones include defending champions Fr. Agnel Multipurpose School -Vashi, Ryan International Groups of Schools, St. Xavier’s High School based in Airoli and Nerul, Bal Bharati Public School -  Kharghar, Apeejay School based in Nerul and Kharghar, SBOA Public  School - Nerul, Koparkhairane based reputed schools of the likes of Christ Academy, Reliance Foundation and K.P.C. English, St. Joseph High Schools based in Kalamboli and Panvel, debutant New English School - Kamothe among others.

 “Being held every year in the month of February, the NBASA Annual Athletic Meet at the NMSA ground in Vashi has always witnessed huge response from students of our member schools in various Track and Field events. This being the 37th edition, over two thousand athletes (Boys’ and Girls’) in six age groups viz. U-6, U-8, U-10, U-12, U-14 & U-16 from 40 schools will vie for individual and team glory in 64 events. The points garnered here will be added to the overall tally of those accumulated to various institutes in various Indoor and Outdoor sports held during the academic year 2023-24 for deciding the overall Championship trophy ,” shared  Purushotham Poojari, Coordinator NBASA.

Boys U-10 80m: 1) Hridaan Bheda (Fr. Agnel Multipurpose School, Vashi); 2) Rohit Babu (Ryan Christian School, Vashi); 3) Arhan Ali (Ryan International School, Nerul).

Girls U-14 800m: 1) Tia Dias (Fr. Agnel Multipurpose School, Vashi); 2) Nithila Marimuthu (Bal Bharati Public School, Kharghar); 3) Advita Kamble  (SBOA Public School, Nerul).
