24 Kalyan Lok Sabha constituency all set for General Election 2024

With the Lok Sabha General Election slated for May 20, 2024, the electoral machinery of 24-Kalyan Lok Sabha Constituency is primed and ready to facilitate a seamless voting process. Election Returning Officer Sushma Satpute affirmed that all arrangements have been meticulously put in place to ensure maximum voter participation and a smooth electoral exercise.
Spanning across 6 assembly constituencies, 24-Kalyan Lok Sabha Constituency boasts a total of 1960 polling booths. In a bid to enhance transparency and security, CCTV and webcasting facilities have been installed at 1012 polling booths situated in areas with high footfall.
Given the prevailing summer conditions, each polling station has been equipped with essential amenities including medical kits, drinking water facilities, ramps, and toilets. Additionally, health workers and Asha workers have been deployed at every polling station to address any emergent medical needs.
The distribution of voter slips, detailing entries in the voter list, has been successfully completed. Electoral officers and staff underwent comprehensive training sessions, ensuring their preparedness to execute their duties effectively.
Special provisions have been made to accommodate differently-abled voters, with ramps, wheelchairs, and transportation facilities arranged upon request through the "enabled system”. Moreover, visually impaired and disabled voters will have access to Braille-script ballot papers, while polling stations have been situated on the ground floor for the convenience of all voters.
To address any grievances or concerns, a total of 318 complaints received via the C Vigil app have been promptly addressed by respective Vidhan Sabha constituencies within stipulated timelines. Additionally, 5 FIRs have been registered in connection with reported violations of the code of conduct.
Recognizing the importance of gender representation, women polling staff have been appointed at 216 polling stations in 149 Kalwa-Mumbra Vidhan Sabha constituencies.
Counting for the 24-Kalyan Lok Sabha Constituency will take place at the Savalaram Maharaj Mhatre Sports Complex, Dombivli (East), while a robust security setup, comprising State Police, State Reserve Force, and Central Police Security Force, has been established at the Savitribai Phule Kala Temple's basement, serving as the strong room.
