Voters awareness campaign organised for transgender communities in 23 Bhiwandi Lok Sabha constituency

In a bid to promote voting awareness among transgender communities, the Voter Awareness Campaign under the Bhiwandi Lok Sabha General Election through SVEEP program. Led by the Election Commission, the campaign aimed to engage and educate voters from diverse backgrounds, emphasizing the importance of electoral participation.

Under the direction of Sanjay Aswale, Head of the SVEEP Team, efforts are focused on reaching out to third caste voters in the 23 Bhiwandi Lok Sabha Constituency, particularly within the 134 Bhiwandi Rural (AJ) Assembly Constituency. Teams will visit residential areas, including Gayatri Nagar, to conduct voter awareness sessions and address community-specific concerns.

During these interactions, members of the SVEEP team interacted with residents to understand their challenges and encourage them to exercise their voting rights. Notable attendees at these sessions include Yogesh Kumar Patil, Revenue Assistant Tehsil Wada, Kashinath Patil, Satish Joshi, Kiran Pawar, Shivkant Khodde, Uday Patil, and Ashwini Pawar.

Moreover, Kinner Asmita, along with Unit 2 Director Nita Kene and Project Manager Dr. Rumana Ansari, representing an organization dedicated to HIV/AIDS awareness and social welfare schemes for transgender communities, were present to support the initiative.
