The Mumbai-Pune route experienced a major disruption near DY Patil Stadium in Nerul on Thursday. A collision between a speeding mixer and a moving container led to a standstill on the route, requiring prompt intervention from traffic police to clear the obstruction and restore normal traffic flow.

The incident unfolded when a mixer, en route to Pune from Mumbai, lost control near DY Patil Stadium. The speeding vehicle veered from its lane and collided with a container trailer on the adjacent side. The impact brought both vehicles to an abrupt halt, causing significant congestion on the Pune-bound lane. The mixer's driver sustained serious injuries and was trapped within the cabin, prompting an urgent response from the Turbhe Traffic Branch.

Upon receiving the report, the Turbhe Traffic Branch swiftly mobilized to the scene, tending to the injured driver and promptly transporting him to DY Patil Hospital in Nerul for medical care. With both vehicles obstructing traffic flow, authorities temporarily suspended movement on both sides of the road and initiated efforts to remove the wreckage using cranes and hydra machines.

Senior Police Inspector Srikant Dharne, along with officers and personnel from the Traffic Branch, took charge of the situation and successfully restored the flow of traffic on the Mumbai-Pune route.
