Thane: The Thane City Police has destroyed 1,592 kg 753 g of narcotics seized in 60 drug-related cases after completing judicial procedures.

The action was carried out at the Mumbai Waste Management facility in Taloja, Navi Mumbai, under the supervision of senior police officials and municipal and forensic representatives.

The seized contraband, recovered by the Anti-Narcotics Cell and local police stations, included large quantities of ganja, charas, mephedrone, opium and ephedrone.

Specifically, 1,552 kg 776 g of ganja was seized in 40 cases, 25 kg 267 g of charas in 8 cases, 12 kg 8 g of mephedrone (MD) in 10 cases, 1 kg 50 g of opium in 1 case, and 1 kg 152 g of ephedrine in another case.

These substances were stored until the completion of legal proceedings and have now been disposed of as per court directives.
