Sunjay Kapur, industrialist and former husband of actor Karisma Kapoor, died of a heart attack at 53 while playing polo in England on June 12. The chairman of auto components giant Sona Comstar and a prominent figure in India's manufacturing sector, Kapur collapsed mid-match.

Tributes poured in from colleagues, institutions like Doon School, and public figures. A noted business leader and fitness enthusiast, Kapur had recently been elected chairman of CII’s Northern Region. He was known for his efforts to democratise polo and strengthen industry-academia ties. Kapur and Karisma were married in 2003 and divorced in 2016.
