In anticipation of the upcoming biennial elections for the Maharashtra Legislative Council for Teachers and Graduate constituencies, Shiv Sena Panvel has put forth the candidacy of Kharghar resident and social activist, Mangesh Ranawade, for the coveted Konkan Graduate Constituency seat.

Ranawade, Chairman of the Kharghar Taloja Colonies Welfare Association and a prominent figure within the Panvel Municipal Jurisdiction, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the political arena. Renowned for his activism and advocacy, Ranawade has been at the forefront of numerous local issues, including property tax disputes, water scarcity, infrastructure concerns, and environmental conservation.

With a background in social activism and holding the position of Mahanagar Sanghatak within the Shiv Sena faction led by Shri Eknath Shinde, Ranawade's nomination is seen as a strategic move by Shiv Sena Panvel to represent the interests of the educated graduate community in the Konkan region.

The biennial elections, initially slated for June 10, 2024, have been postponed by the Election Commission of India. The Konkan Graduate constituency, encompassing districts such as Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Raigad, Thane, and Palghar, awaits the retirement of its current MLC, Niranjan Vasant Dawkhare, on July 7, 2024. Ranawade's candidacy positions him as a frontrunner in the race to represent the aspirations of the Konkan region's graduate electorate.
