In a targeted operation aimed at curbing criminal activities, particularly drug trafficking, Navi Mumbai police conducted a successful combing operation within the Rabale MIDC police station limits, resulting in the arrest of five individuals, including a Nigerian national. The operation, which took place on Thursday night, saw law enforcement officials combing through the area to apprehend suspects, gangsters, and individuals involved in illicit activities.
With the Lok Sabha elections looming, Navi Mumbai Police have intensified efforts to apprehend known offenders, suspected criminals, gang members, and drug smugglers. This proactive stance is part of a broader strategy to dismantle criminal networks and ensure public safety in the region. Previous operations, such as the one conducted in the Koparkhairane area last Saturday, have yielded positive results, leading to the arrest of several individuals engaged in criminal activities.
The combing operation in the Rabale MIDC limits involved the deployment of 26 officers and 179 enforcement personnel, including the Right Control Police Team and additional manpower from neighbouring police stations. Divided into 13 squads, the police executed blockades at strategic locations and conducted searches in various areas throughout the night.
During the operation, law enforcement officials apprehended individuals involved in narcotics trafficking, illegal possession of weapons, and other criminal activities. Notably, a Nigerian national, identified as Pita Kisidi, who was found in possession of Mathedrone, a banned substance, leading to his arrest under the NDPS Act. Additionally, Deepak Baban Pawar was arrested for selling ganja, with a substantial quantity seized from him.
The police also detained individuals found carrying sharp weapons, reinforcing their commitment to maintaining law and order in the community. Furthermore, efforts were made to address traffic violations, with actions taken under the Motor Vehicles Act and investigations launched against wanted offenders.
Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police, Circle-1, Pankaj Dahane, and as per the directives of Police Commissioner Milind Bharambe, the operation was meticulously executed to target known offenders and disrupt criminal activities in the area. A total of 39 history sheeters and 21 individuals listed in the gangster register were checked during the operation, with several actions taken against them as per the law.
In addition to targeting known criminals, the police also cracked down on various offenses, including violations of the Maharashtra Police Act, consumption of narcotics, and drunk driving. This comprehensive approach underscores the commitment of the Navi Mumbai Police to ensuring the safety and security of all residents.
