Vashi: With a view towards ensuring continuity and wider family participation, the Navi Mumbai Sports Association (NMSA) has approved amendments to its bye-law allowing members to transfer their association membership to the next generation.
As per the newly adopted provisions during the Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) held on April 27, 2025, a member can now transfer their NMSA membership to their son, daughter, grandson, or granddaughter, provided the nominee is aged between 21 and 40 years at the time of transfer.
The revised rules also addresses instances where both the primary member and their spouse have passed away. In such instances, the membership may be transferred to any one eligible child, subject to submission of an indemnity bond and a no objection certificate from the other siblings.
Additionally, transfer fees, annual maintenance charges, and subscription fees will be determined by the NMSA managing committee as and when required.
Corporator and MC member Vikram Dhanaji Shinde (Raju Bhaiya) stated that these changes reflect a conscious effort to make NMSA more inclusive and to ensure long-term member engagement across generations.
