“Losing the top three batters including the openers cheaply, who were among the top 3 batters of the tournament provided the rest of the batters including all-rounder Rennie Fernandes to prove their mettle, knowing their predecessors had finished second best in the last two consecutive years. After putting an underpar score on the board, the bowlers backed by the fielders did exceptionally well to bowl out the opposition. Captain Mitali Mhatre herself (4-0-15-3) with her three wicket haul led from the front with her astute leadership. Other spin bowlers of our team too bowled very tight line & length, add to this the fielders took some brilliant catches and affected run–out too to ensure a comfortable win in the end,” said Amit Kadam.
