Harbour line services were restored to normalcy after 3 p.m.

On 29th April a local train travelling from Panvel to CSMT experienced derailment near CSMT station on the Harbour Line. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among passengers, and mainline services remained unaffected.

On the morning of the incident around 11:35 am, a trolley of the Panvel 56 local train derailed while arriving at Platform No. 2 of CSMT. Fortunately, no passengers were injured during this unfortunate event. However, the Harbour line services were significantly affected as a result. This prompted authorities to divert en route trains toward CSMT to Masjid station. However, operations continued between Wadala and CSMT.

A coach of a local train on the Harbour Line derailed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) on Monday morning, and no passengers were injured, a spokesperson of the Central Railway said.
Efforts to restore normalcy were swift, with restoration work initiated immediately. By 13:15 hrs, the derailed coach was re-railed, clearing the track by 13:55 hrs.

Harbour Line services were promptly restored, with the first train departing from CSMT towards Belapur at 15:06 hrs.
On X formerly known as Twitter, Alekh A A A with the Twitter handle @BombayKaBangda, tweeted, “At Tilak Nagar, passengers got off because the train was not moving for the past 20-22 mins.  Auto guys, as always, refused to ferry passengers to nearby stations such as Vidyavihar, Kurla.”

The Central Railway Suburban Services provided regular updates, assuring commuters of the resumption of Harbour Line services and the successful re-railing of the derailed train.
Despite the temporary disruption, the incident had no repercussions on the Main line services, ensuring minimal inconvenience to commuters.
