Mira Road News: Narcotics worth Rs 22L seized; 1 arrested

Mira Road: The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Mira-Bhayandar Vasai-Virar (MBVV) police arrested a drug trafficker and seized 2.2 kg of charas worth over Rs 22 lakh. The arrest took place near the LR Tiwari Engineering College in the Beverly Park area of Mira Road late on the night of May 31.
According to officials, the ANC team was conducting routine patrolling around 11:00 PM when they noticed a suspicious individual carrying a bag. Upon questioning and conducting a personal search, the police discovered the contraband along with a mobile phone valued at Rs 15,000.
The accused had reportedly brought the contraband from Dharavi in Mumbai with the intention of selling it in Mira Road. The seized narcotics have an estimated street value of Rs 22.03 lakh.
The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
