In an unfortunate incident on Friday morning, a raging fire broke out in a 3 BHK flat, No. 1803, on the 18th floor of the B wing in the Sai World City complex near Panvel's Palaspe Phata. The timely response from the Panvel Municipal Fire Brigade, CIDCO, and ONGC fire brigade personnel prevented any casualties.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing smoke and flames billowing from the affected flat, drawing the attention of passing motorists. Promptly informed, the Panvel Municipal Fire Brigade sprang into action, supported by additional resources from New Panvel, Kharghar, Panvel, and the ONGC fire engine, due to the intensity of the blaze.

CIDCO fire official, Y. T Shinde, revealed, "We received a fire call around 12 pm. Luckily, the Tripal Jain family was not at home when the incident occurred. However, the fire has caused extensive damage to their residence."

Shinde added that while the fire's origin appears to be a short circuit, a comprehensive investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause.

The fire resulted in a thick layer of soot, affecting the floors above the 18th level, raising concerns about the overall structural damage. Fire fighters, however, managed to contain the blaze within an hour, preventing its escalation to neighbouring units.
