Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education declares class 12 results; Navi Mumbai records impressive 95.94%

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education on May 5 declared the results for the Class 12 examinations. The overall pass percentage for 2025 was 91.88%.

In Navi Mumbai, however, the results remained strong with a pass percentage of 95.94%. Out of the 15,782 students who registered for the exam, 15,710 appeared for the examination. A total of 2,152 students secured distinction marks, while 4,647 achieved Grade I, and 6,688 scored Grade II. Another 1,586 students got pass grade.

Across Maharashtra, the overall pass rate for 2025 reached 91.88%, showing a minor decline by 1.49% compared to last year. Girls outperformed boys once again, continuing a trend seen in previous years.

Out of 14,27,905 students enrolled in the regular stream, 14,19,969 took the exam, with 13,29,684 clearing it — bringing the pass rate to 93.37%. In contrast, the success rate among repeat candidates stood at 64.23%. Konkan topped the list with a 96.47% pass rate, while Latur recorded the lowest at 92.48%.

In terms of gender, 7,01,324 boys appeared for the exams, with 6,53,247 passing, yielding a pass percentage of 93.15%. Out of 6,26,672 girls who sat for the exam, 6,10,934 cleared it, marking a success rate of 97.48%. This put girls ahead of boys by 4.33% in overall performance.

The science stream saw a remarkable 96.85% pass rate, up from 96.09% in the previous two years. The commerce stream also saw improvement, with a pass percentage of 92.18%, up from 89.79%. The arts stream recorded a pass rate of 85.88%, while the Minimum Competency Vocational Courses (MCVC) stream registered an 87.69% pass rate.

The Konkan division emerged as the top performer statewide, while Latur recorded a decline in pass rates.
