Konkan Division Maintains Supremacy

The much awaited Class XIIth results for the Board exams conducted by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) for the academic year 2023-24, early this year from 21 February to 19 March, was declared on Tuesday 21 May, 2024. The same  witnessed an overall pass percentage of 93.37% for fresh regular candidates which was a marginal improvement of 2.12 percentage points compared to last year, where the success figure was 91.25 %..

A total of 14,33,371 students had registered for the exams in the fresher’s category. Out of which 14, 23, 970 students appeared for the exams 13,29, 684 of them passed. Among them 1,90,570 secured Distinctions,  while 4,80,631 passed with First Class. In addition 5,26,425 students passed in Second Class and the rest  1,32,058 cleared with Pass Class.

Girls students once again performed better than Boys counterparts with a passing percentage of 95.44 as against 91.60 by Boys.

Stream-wise, the Science students performed the best with 97.82 % passing the exam. In the Arts, Commerce, Vocational and ITI (Technical Science), the pass percentages are 85.88 % , 92.18 %, 87.75 % and 87.69 % respectively.

On the other hand students in 26 subjects out of the 154 in Class XII Maharashtra Board exams, did exceptionally well with 100 % result.

Students from Konkan division once again aced the XII Board result with a pass percentage of 97.91% among nine divisions, followed by Nashik with 94.71%, Pune -  94.44%, Sambhaji Nagar -  94.08%,  Amravati - 93%, Latur: 92.36%, Nagpur - 92.12% and Mumbai division students on the other hand registered the lowest pass percentage of 91.95 percent.

As per an official from Mumbai division despite Mumbai division lowest ranking among all nine divisions, the division has shown a considerable improvement in the pass percentage compared to that of last year (88.13 % in 2023 to 91.95 % in 2024).

Radhika Meghe School and Jr. College – Koparkhairane, St. Xavier’s High School & Jr. College of Science –  Nerul, Pace Jr.  Science College – Nerul, S.I.E S Jr. College of Commerce – Nerul, Mahatma Gandhi Mission Primary – Nerul, Nutan Mar & Sterling Jr. College – Nerul, M.E.S. Vidyamandir & Junior College – Belapur and  Bharati Vidyapeeth Prashala and Junior College – Belapur
