Residents in many sectors of Kharghar have raised concerns about waterlogging in their streets due to heavy rains.
They have attributed this to unpreparedness of the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) and gutters not being cleaned properly and on time.
Few of the sectors affected due to this were Sector 11, Sector 19, Sector 27, and Sector 34C.
Amol K, shared a picture of a waterlogged street in his locality in Sector 19, Kharghar and tagged PMC on 'X' to make them aware about this situation.
Narender Sharma , a Kharghar resident said,“At Kharghar, Sector 34C. All sewage lines are blocked due to no attention from the municipality. Please look into it as soon as possible.”
Anupriya Deshapande, a resident of Sector 27, Kharghar said, “Kharghar is the only place in Navi Mumbai where you will have a water crisis for drinking water and also waterlogging. PMC has not done a thorough job this year when it comes to cleaning drains which are routinely cleaned in the months of April and May. This year, there has been a laxity and the drains which divert rain water have not been cleaned properly this year. This has led to the situation of waterlogging on most of Kharghar’s roads.”
