Jain and Samuel advance in CCI Snooker Classic with contrasting wins

The CCI Snooker Classic 2026 commenced at the Cricket Club of India's Wilson Jones Billiards Hall on Friday, witnessing contrasting victories for Sagar Jain and Selvel Samuel in their first-round matches.
Sagar Jain dominated his match against Navin Sankarnarayan, securing a comfortable 3–0 victory. Jain started strongly, compiling a half-century break of 53 in the first frame, eventually winning with scores of 62–21, 61–28, and 59–39.
Selvel Samuel, on the other hand, clinched a narrow 3–2 victory against Vijay Lilwa (55–16, 43–51, 66–43, 31–58, 74–32). Rohit Khatavkar also progressed, defeating Mazharali Roowala 3–1 (46–71, 51–27, 56–20, 54–48).
In another closely contested match, Siddharth Tembe faced a tough challenge from Jeet Thakur. After a gruelling match, Tembe emerged victorious with a 3–2 scoreline (32–62, 60–32, 62–10, 40–75, 61–18), advancing to the next round.
