Following Indian Women’s recent successful Tour to Bangladesh , the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to host South Africa Women’s for the IDFC First Bank all-format tour starting Thursday 13th June, 2024.
As part of the itinerary released by the governing body of the game in the country, India will host the Proteas for three ODIs, one Test and three T20Is.
The home series will commence with a One-Day Warmup game between the Board President's XI and the Visiting side at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The same will be followed by three ODI’s scheduled for the 16th, 19th and 23rd June respectively at same venue. The ODIs are a part of the 2022–2025 ICC Women's Championship.
The action will then shift to MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, which will first host the four-day Test from 28th June to 1st July. Incidentally it will be only the third Test between the two sides and comes at the back of the previous one that was hosted in Mysore almost a decade ago.
The same will conclude with a three match T20Is series at the same venue in Chennai and will serve as build up for to prestigious ICC T20 World Cup set to be played in Bangladesh later in the year. The T20I matches will be scheduled on 5th, 7th and 9th July.
