Empowering Women for a Brighter Future for All: Ryan MD

Observed annually on March 8, International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global celebration of women’s achievements across social, economic, cultural, and political spheres. It serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing struggle for gender equality and a call to action to accelerate this vital cause.

In honour of this significant day, Dr Grace Pinto, Managing Director of the Ryan International Group of Institutions, shares an inspiring message for students, teachers, and readers of Newsband. She highlights the extraordinary spirit of women, celebrating their courage, compassion, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to shaping a better world.

Dr Pinto reminds us that IWD is not only about recognising renowned achievers but also about honouring the countless unsung heroes whose quiet sacrifices and determined efforts strengthen families, institutions, and nations. “As we commemorate International Women’s Day 2026, we must acknowledge the transformative influence of women in education and beyond,” she said.

This year’s theme, ‘Give To Gain’, encapsulates a profound truth: when women share their knowledge, time, encouragement, and love, they cultivate strength, growth, and collective progress. Dr Pinto said that every act of mentorship creates a leader, every word of encouragement builds confidence, and every opportunity shared multiplies possibilities. The spirit of ‘Give To Gain’ calls upon us to support dreams, both our own and those of others, with courage and conviction, celebrating every woman’s success as a shared victory.

Over the past five decades, the Ryan and Xavier’s Group has witnessed the remarkable impact of women in education. Women educators and leaders have dedicated themselves to nurturing young minds, instilling values, and building vibrant communities. Their contributions extend far beyond the classroom; they shape generations and create a lasting legacy.

Dr Pinto poignantly states, “When one woman rises, she lifts many others with her.” True empowerment is not solely about personal achievement; it is about creating pathways for others to succeed. Education remains one of the most powerful tools of transformation. An educated woman transforms her family, strengthens society, and influences generations to come. With education in hand and confidence in heart, women become architects of change and torchbearers of progress.

The veteran educationist, Dr Pinto, who was honoured with the Mahatma Award 2025 for excellence in education and nation-building, as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award in Education last year, concluded by highlighting the vital role women play in our lives and communities. Their contributions are foundational to our collective progress.

“Together, we have the power to create a world where every woman and girl has the opportunity to thrive, succeed, and contribute to a brighter future. This shared vision not only enhances individual lives but also strengthens the fabric of our communities, fostering an environment where everyone can flourish. In this united effort, we can ensure that the potential of women and girls is recognised and celebrated, leading to transformative change for generations to come,” said Dr Pinto, while urging the need to keep shining, keep inspiring, and keep moving forward.
