Mira-Bhayandar: Police have seized Rs 22.33 crore worth of cocaine in a major anti-narcotics operation in  Motilal Nagar in Bhayandar East and Mira Road’s Hatkesh in Mira Road. Two women, including 42-year-old Sabina Sheikh, and a Nigerian national, have been arrested under the NDPS Act.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Inspector Pramod Badakh, under DCP Avinash Ambure and Commissioner Madhukar Pandey, raided Sheikh’s residence, recovering 12.83 kg of cocaine worth Rs 17.74 crore and Rs 80,000 in cash. During interrogation, Sheikh revealed she sourced the drugs from a Nigerian man in Hatkesh.

A follow-up raid at the Nigerian national’s premises led to the seizure of additional cocaine worth Rs 3.90 crore and Rs 1.04 lakh in cash.

All three accused are in custody as the police investigation continues.
