Poses threat to public safety

The structure adjacent to Uran Tehsil Office and Uran police station has deteriorated into a state of ruin, raising concerns for the safety of individuals frequenting the area. The abandoned building, once utilized by government offices during the British era under the Uran Tehsil Works, now stands dilapidated and abandoned, devoid of doors and windows, and surrounded by neglect and filth.

The desolation of the building has provided a breeding ground for rodents, scorpions, and reptiles, posing a significant threat to the lives of workers and visitors alike. With thousands of citizens traversing through these offices daily, the risk of encountering these hazardous creatures, even within parked vehicles, looms large. Employees working in the vicinity are particularly vulnerable, with the potential for life-threatening encounters while on duty.

Naresh Pawar, Deputy Engineer of Public Works Uran declined to comment on inquiries regarding the state of the building, prompting questions about accountability for the safety hazards it presents to government officials and the general public.

"The office has remained shut for many years, leaving the building in a state of utter disrepair," remarked Satish Nikam, Senior Police Inspector of Uran. "The proliferation of vermin and venomous creatures poses a grave danger to citizens and employees alike. It is imperative that the structure be demolished, and the area be cleaned promptly. We urge the Public Works Department Uran to allocate suitable space for office operations", stated Nikam.
