Bhayandar News: Police sub-inspector arrested while taking Rs 50,000 bribe

Bhayander: Police Sub-Inspector Ramnath Tandalkar of Nayanagar Police Station, Mira Road, was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Thane Division, while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000. He has since been arrested.
The complainant’s brother had been arrested by Nayanagar Police for allegedly selling narcotic substances (MD). Tandalkar demanded Rs 70,000 to record a favourable report and facilitate bail but later agreed to Rs 50,000 after negotiation.
Following a written complaint to the ACB, a trap was laid under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Shivraj Patil and Additional Superintendents Suhas Shinde and Sanjay Govilkar. Tandalkar was caught in the act and taken into custody.
