Ulhasnagar: Elaborate pandals, dazzling lights and devotional displays have immersed Ulhasnagar in the festive spirit of Shardiya Navratri. Among this year’s major attractions are the exhibition of 51 Shakti Peethas at Pavai Chowk and the ‘Ulhasnagar Chi Mauli’ installation at Gol Maidan, drawing devotees from across the city.

At Lions Club Garden in Pavai Chowk, the Maa Seva Shakti Mandal has created an elaborate artificial temple featuring all 51 Shakti Peethas, accompanied by tableaux depicting 18 prominent Peethas. Arrangements have been made for round-the-clock darshan, enabling devotees to visit the display throughout the festival.

At Gol Maidan, the Sagar Utwal Foundation has recreated the Maa Sharda Temple of Himachal Pradesh. The Goddess installed at the venue has been named ‘Ulhasnagar Chi Mauli’, and the pandal has attracted considerable interest, particularly among young devotees.

Shardiya Navratri, celebrated over nine nights, honours Goddess Durga and her various manifestations. Across communities, the festival brings people together through prayers, devotional gatherings and cultural celebrations.

The two installations have become focal points of this year’s festivities, offering residents an opportunity to experience distinctive religious displays within the city. Beyond their visual grandeur, the pandals reflect the devotion, collective effort and community participation that make Navratri a significant annual celebration in Ulhasnagar.
