Mumbai: St Xavier’s College is back with its flagship intercollegiate fest, Malhar. It is set to take place on August 14, 15, and 16, 2025. Malhar 2025 has revealed its theme “The World Within,” which celebrates both introspection and imagination.
More than just a college fest, Malhar is an annual explosion of voices that yearn to be heard, visions aching to be portrayed, and young energy that pulses through every moment.
In 2025, the festival has chosen the theme of exploring the infinite universes we carry inside ourselves and the one we collectively create through connection, art, and expression.
Malhar is open to all audiences, and in its 40-plus-year-old legacy, has been graced by many renowned artists like Rohit Saraf, Dia Mirza, Imran Khan, Anupam Kher, Naseeruddin Shah, Prajakta Koli, Shriya Pilgaonkar, and Vijay Varma.
Malhar’s new logo is inspired by the Celtic Triquetra, an ancient emblem of unity and interconnectedness. Its interwoven arcs represent three realms- the world above us, the world around us, and the world within. At the core lies a radiant golden star. The outer band bears Roman numerals from I to XX, symbolizing Malhar’s 20 departments, and “MMXXV” depicting the year 2025.
Malhar 2025’s theme, The World Within, is the zen to a hustling-bustling life. In a world that moves fast and loud, this is a place to look for serenity inside us through our intuitions and emotions. It celebrates the synergy of individuals and their community, all coming together to form something far greater than the sum of its parts.
This year, from August 14 to 16, St. Xavier’s, Mumbai, will transform once more into a constellation of stories, performances, debates, art, and joy where the universe isn’t just “out there,” but found in every heart that beats within Malhar.
