In a stunning display of heritage and cricketing spirit, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Trophy Tour with DP World was officially launched today over the iconic Adam’s Bridge, known in India as the Ram Setu. This breathtaking event symbolises the unity between the two co-hosts, India and Sri Lanka, as they prepare for one of cricket’s most anticipated tournaments.

Against the picturesque backdrop of India’s southern coastline, a two-seater paramotor took to the skies, proudly carrying the coveted T20 World Cup trophy. The flight traced the shimmering limestone shoals below, reaching the farthest authorised point over the bridge before circling back, offering sweeping aerial visuals that encapsulated the excitement of this historic moment.

The dramatic lift-off serves as a powerful metaphor for the tournament’s scale and global reach. The 10th edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, featuring 20 teams and spanning 29 days of high-octane cricket across eight world-class venues, including Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai), is set to take place from February 7 to March 8, 2026.

Jay Shah, ICC Chairman, expressed his enthusiasm, stating: “Launching the Trophy Tour above the Ram Setu, a site rich in history and cultural significance, sets an inspiring tone for this landmark event. This tour is not just about moving a trophy; it’s a unifying journey that ignites passion among fans worldwide.”

Devajit Saikia, Honorary Secretary of the BCCI, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the emotional intensity of the T20 format and the commitment to providing an outstanding experience for players and fans alike.

Shammi Silva, President of Sri Lanka Cricket, welcomed the launch, emphasising the excitement of hosting fans globally and the commitment to delivering an exceptional tournament experience.

The Trophy Tour will traverse Asia, including stops in Qatar, Oman, Nepal, Bahrain and Mongolia, allowing millions of fans to engage with the trophy through various interactive experiences, including campus visits, fan meets, public activations and cricket carnivals designed to celebrate the sport’s energy and inclusivity.

The trophy will also be taken to schools and colleges associated with players set to participate in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, offering young fans an inspiring, once-in-a-lifetime connection to the global stage. This leads up to the marquee white-ball tournament, which is also slated to make its debut at the upcoming Los Angeles 2028 Games after a gap of 128 years.
