Agnel students register cent percent success in HSC Board exams

Class XIIth students of Vashi based Fr. Agnel Multipurpose School and Jr. College along with teachers, were ecstatic with joy, following the declaration of the HSC Board exams results for the year 2023-24, by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education on Tuesday 21 May, 2024. The reputed institute of Navi Mumbai not only achieved 100% pass percentage results in both the Science and Commerce Streams as has been the case over the decades, but also registered a high percentage of distinctions compared to the previous years.

As per official communique from the School administration, among the 151 students pursuing Science stream and 127 students of the Commerce stream who registered for the HSC exams, all passed with excellent scores. Of which 102 (82 in 2023) from Science stream and 96 (92 in 2023) Commerce stream passed with distinction.

Mabel Anthony Nadar with 95.5 % stood first in the Science stream while Shriya Sandeep Rane with 95.33% came in close second. The third place was a two way tie between Akanksha Ashwin Pai and Aparajita Jitendra Singh who both registered 94.17 % .

Tanishka Rajesh Khithani with a score of 95 % was the school topper in the Commerce stream.  State level Basketball players and close pals Hetvi Naresh Bhanushali with 94.83% and Riddhi Tulshidas Chandra with 94.50% followed suit in the second and third place.

In addition five students with learning disability and two with Orthopaedic Disability too passed with flying colours.  Add to the list of personal achievements, Aparajita Singh and Rishi Chawla, both students from Science stream who scored cent percent marks in Mathematics.

It was a happy outcome for two two pairs of Agnel twins who too performed well in the Class XII Board Exams.  They Included Dhruv Rajendra Chouhan (84.33 %) and Aryan Rajendra Chouhan (77.33 %) in addition to Saniha Muradali Mulla (73.33 %) and Armaan Muradali Mulla (70.17 %)

Commerce topper Tanishka Rajesh Khithani who interacted with Newsband, credited her memory as the secret of her success in the Class 12th Board exams.  

”Having blessed with a good retaining capacity, I didn’t need to put in additional effort while preparing for the Board exams. The real serious preparation commenced a week prior to these crucial exams. Happy the overall results, which I felt were beyond my expectations. Would like to thank my school teachers and my mother, who has single handedly raised me since I was three and supported me in all my endeavours, ” said an elated Tanishka, who wishes to pursue Bachelor’s in Accounting and Finance while aspiring to become an Chartered Financial Analyst.

Shriya Sandeep Rane, who came in a close second behind her Sacred Heart High School Class 10th class mate and Science stream topper Mabel Anthony Nadar on the other hand expressed her gratitude to her class teacher Sandya Maam and the school management for her success.

“Like all non Agnel students who took admission in Class 11th had felt intimidated with the new surroundings, but soon gelled with them as the term progressed with group activities. The confidence gained along thereby along with the dedicated efforts on the academic front year long (including two hours of coaching and equal number of hours for self-study in addition to the daily classes) after completing Class 11th while pursuing my passion for arts (graphics designing) as a means of relaxation have paid dividends,” said Shriya the youngest of two siblings who wants to pursue Engineering in Computer Science.   

Snigdha Roy, Principal of Fr. Agnel Multipurpose School and Jr. College too was overwhelmed by results of her Class 12th students, many of whom had taken fresh admission two years back, said “The brief association with the fresh students added to the challenge of bonding while ensuring continuous learning too. The same was achieved with team activities and educational trips. In addition stressing on the importance of attendance throughout the year and complete attention span by the students while in class. Kudos to our dedicated teachers who too put in the extra yard in ensuring the doubts of the weakest of students too were addressed, which boosted the confidence of these 17-18 years children. The whole program for the junior college has been managed by our MD Fr. S Almeida who has always stressed on all-round personalities. Extra curricular activities including sports have always played a key role, as it also improves the focus of the students while studying. Our dedicated sports coaches maintain a close liaison with the teachers so as to ensure that those students who represent school in various competitions be it local, state or national, also keep pace with their academic assignments,” shared Snigdha Roy, Principal. 

While congratulating all the students, in her advisory message she further added “There is life beyond marks and the world is full of opportunities. One need not be the best in everything but be good enough to complete the task at hand with conviction. For this one needs to enjoy the task and be passionate, as learning is a continuous process and knowledge never goes waste”.
